In short

The best AI wedding video editor depends on how you work. Compare where your footage goes, what it runs on, how it's priced, what it makes and how you change the result, then try your shortlist on the same wedding before you pay.

AI wedding video editors have gone from a curiosity to a real choice, and they don’t all work the same way. Some want the whole wedding uploaded; some never see your video at all. Some hand you a draft to finish in your own editing software; others let you change the film by asking. This guide sets out what to compare, shows how the current tools line up, and links to a closer comparison for each.

Is there a best AI wedding video editor?

Not for everyone. The right tool depends on who you are and how you work.

  • Wedding videographers who already finish films in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro usually want a fast, well-organised draft they can take into their own timeline.
  • Wedding photographers who capture some video usually want the opposite: a finished film they can review and change without learning an editing application. If that’s you, how to make a wedding film without learning Premiere sets out the options.

The six questions below separate the tools quickly.

1. Where does your footage go?

This is the biggest difference between AI editors, and it affects how long you wait and what happens to your couples’ footage.

  • The whole wedding uploaded to the cloud. The service processes everything on its servers. A wedding is often 100 to 500 GB, so the upload can take many hours on a home connection before any editing starts. The upload time calculator works it out for your connection.
  • Proxies uploaded for cloud processing. The app makes smaller copies of your clips and uploads those, while the original files stay on your drive. Much less to send, though the work still happens on someone else’s servers.
  • Local processing. The video work happens on your own computer and nothing video-sized is uploaded. Some local tools still send still frames and a transcript to an online AI model to plan the film.

Whichever model you choose, read the privacy policy: what’s stored, for how long, and whether it’s used for anything else. Keeping couples’ footage private lists the questions to ask, and local vs cloud AI video editing goes deeper on the trade-offs.

2. What does it run on?

A browser-based service runs on any computer and needs nothing installed, but depends on your upload speed. A desktop app needs the right operating system, and local processing needs a capable machine with enough RAM. Check Mac and Windows support before anything else, including whether a Mac version runs on Apple silicon or only on Intel Macs, because it rules tools in or out immediately.

3. How is it priced?

You’ll see several models, sometimes combined:

  • a monthly subscription that includes a number of weddings
  • a price per wedding, or credits that each wedding uses up
  • an unlimited monthly plan
  • a one-time purchase, with the AI paid for separately at cost

Work out what each costs across a full season, including your quiet months. What AI editing costs per wedding explains how the AI itself is billed, and why it’s usually a small part of the total.

4. What does it make?

List what you deliver to couples, then check each tool against it:

  • a highlight film, and the lengths on offer
  • a full-length wedding movie or ceremony edit
  • a vertical teaser for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, framed for a phone
  • a speeches edit
  • a captions file
  • the resolution of the finished film

A tool that doesn’t make the vertical teaser leaves you a separate job every wedding. Wedding teaser reels explains why the teaser matters.

5. How do you change the result?

Every AI first cut needs your eye. The question is where the changes happen.

  • You finish it in your own editing software, from a draft video or an exported timeline. That suits editors who already live in a timeline.
  • You change it inside the tool, by moving and trimming shots or by asking in plain English. That suits photographers who don’t want to learn an editing application.

Either way, check there’s an undo and that you can make as many changes as you need. Making an AI first cut your own sets out a review routine.

6. Can you try it on a real wedding?

A showreel can’t tell you how a tool handles your footage, your light and your couples’ voices. Look for a free first film, a single-wedding price or a clear refund policy, and try your shortlist on the same wedding.

How do the tools compare?

This is how three AI wedding video editors line up on those questions, from each company’s own website. The closer comparisons link to every source.
